The Forbidden City was the palace where 24 emperors of Ming and Qing Dynasties lived. In Ming Dynasty (1420), the emperor Zhuli built this palace which covers an area 720 thousand square meters. There are 980 houses in the palace. The Forbidden City has been listed as one of the World Cultural Relics by the UNESCO.

Facts: Forbidden City is surrounded by 10-meter high and 3-kilometer long rampart. The rampart is surrounded by 6-meter deep moat. There are 4 gates in the rampart. On the 4 corners of Forbidden City, there are 4 turrets. The Forbidden City is a classic of Chinese ancient architectures.
