1.How to get the Travel Permit to Tibet? - Top

Travel permits are issued by Tibet Tourism Administration. Applications require a copy of passport and Chinese visa, together with other information such as your occupation. Journalists and people that could be involved in political matters may be refused a permit. Multi-entry travel Permits are not available. Your travel advisor will handle all aspects of obtaining your Tibet Permit. Travel to places other than those specified on the application is forbidden.

Your travel advisor will take care of all formalities to obtain the permits to allow you to enter Tibet.

3.When will I get my Tibet Permit? - Top

Your Tibet Permit will be issued by the Tibet Tourism Bureau after our local Tibet agent presents the Permit application together with a copy of your passport and China Visa. The Tibet agent will fax the permit to our office or to our agent's office in the city where you will board the train or plane for Tibet. Your guide at this place will give you the Tibet permit which will be required to be presented when you arrive in Tibet. After your arrival in Tibet, the guide will collect the permit from you and he will return the permit to the Tibet Tourism Bureau. You will not need the permit again and the permit must be returned.

4.How to obtain a China visa in Nepal? - Top

Procedure to obtain a China Visa while in Nepal.

1.At least 3 working days are required to obtain a Visa from the Chinese Embassy in Nepal.

2. A travel agent is required in both China and Nepal to obtain a China visa. The Chinese travel agency is required to send or fax completed documentation to the travel agency in Nepal and to the Chinese embassy in Nepal. China Highlights is happy to complete the required documents and make all arrangements for our customers.

4. Gender: Male/female
5. Occupation
6. Nationality
7. Photo copies of passports.

5.I have read that 2 dates; 27 September and 1 October are dates of anniversaries of difficult times in Tibet and that security may be tightened in these times. Could you please look into this for me? - Top

No special date limit for the application for the permit to Tibet, and dates around of the October 1 are as usual as other times. But more personal information is needed to apply for the permit. The essential information is traveler's name, sex, age, nationality, occupation, passport number and Chinese visa number.

6.How do I get a Tibet Travel Permit if I come to China from Nepal? - Top

There are 8 steps to obtain your Travel Permit.
1. Confirm your tour with us.
2. Apply for a China visa in your country. If you need something we can help you with, for example provision of an invitation letter, please let us know.
3. Send copies of your China visa and passport to us
4. We will apply for the Tibet Travel Permit and the Notification of Tibet Visa on your behalf.
5. We will send the Notification of Tibet Visa to your Kathmandu travel agency.
6. Your Kathmandu travel agency will apply for the Tibet Visa on your behalf.
7. Fly to Tibet with your Tibet Visa.
8. When you arrive at Lhasa, our tour guide will show the Tibet Travel Permit, which will allow you to go through Chinese customs at Lhasa airport and begin your Tibet tour.
