I want to eat authentic Chinese food on my trip. Do you use local restaurants?
Part of our commitment to "Discovery you way" is to give you the opportunity to discover as much about Chinese food and its many varieties as possible. Our guides are always ready to suggest a restaurant or give advice for those meals that are not included in the tour./P>
We try to take our customers to "real" local restaurants as part of our tours wherever possible. The food is authentic and atmosphere is created by the locals enjoying a very traditional part of Chinese culture; "eating". Noise is something that goes hand in hand with any Chinese restaurants so be prepared to compete with the local to be heard. Although Chinese food comes in many forms some meat & seafood dishes are served with the bones. Many people find this off-putting but it is traditional. There may be times when no English menu is available but in these cases our guide will always be available to assist.
Chinese food culture dictates that the ingredients used be as fresh as possible. Preparation times for some dishes can be longer than expected because the ingredients need to be prepared before cooking can commence. Please be patient, we trust that you will not be disappointed.
Smoking is still extremely popular in China and this includes restaurants. With a quarter of the population being smokers and almost no restrictions on smoking in public places, it is possible that it will have people smoking in the restaurant that we take you to and it is quite possible that smokers will be located at a table near you. It is difficult for us to avoid this and even harder to do anything about. These people are not breaking any laws.
We all know that "knowledge is power" so we trust that armed with this local information, our customers will be able to make choices that best suit them so that they maximize their enjoyment.
